Making an Image Editable
Before you start making magic with your images, you have to create a new movie in Flash (File > New) and then import an image into your scene (File > Import > Select an image you like).
Please note: as the image will have its color channels recalculated to create a new image based on new color calculations, I strongly recommend you to import a grayscale image for your manipulations. This is because all channels will be the same all the time, and the results will be more predictable. And grayscale images are, of course, just one third the byte size of a color image. Colored images will work, but I don't recommend it.
For this tutorial, I've used a picture I've just taken from one of my Evangelion's Action Figures, Asuka's EVA-02.
