Finishing UpLittle TouchesYou may now wish to take the time to center your objects, and probly add a little "Loading, Please Wait" text. You may also wish to add a small animation that clears the stage of all your loading assets. Change the design now if you want, or w/e! Much, much more complicated things can be done as well if you only try, and know a little about Actionscript. ExplanationsI don't like explaining much, you probly could figure it all out on your own but why bother right? Well anyways, here we go... All the code I have used in this preloader is all very simple. The first line gets the total bytes loaded from the main movie, or _root and stores it in a variable. The second line does the same kinda thing. Next we just retrieve a percent loaded from those 2 values, like you did when you first found out how to know what percent you got on a quiz in school. Just take the amount loaded, divide it by the total amount to get a decimal between 0 and 1. Then you multiply it to create the percent, and finally round it for our own needs, and store it in a variable. Simple! The next line just adds a '%' sign to the percentLoaded for the text to give it more substance. The last line tells the bar animation to go to whatever frame represents how much of it is loaded. There's no more to it. if you want, you can download my version of it and see how easy it is! Well I hope you learned something from this, and if not, I hope someone else will. Just email me if you need more help at ogreatgazoo@hotmail.com.
Note: I have not added any images to this tutorial. Mostly because I'm lazy. If you need help, just download the *.fla*!
