Creating your own custom, hand made text

Materials needed: Flash, experience with masking and symbols

Ok lets get started. First off we want to select what color we want our text to be. I just so happened to use #99CCFF. Ok now pick your rectangle tool (R) and make a nice little rectangle, now if you use the color I used then you might want to select the color and turn it so the white part runs horizontal and adjust size as need be. Okay, now convert that rectangle to a graphic (If you want to animate it make it a movieclip). Go into it and delete the rectangle's out line if you haven't already. Once you have done that, go to your symbol's timeline and make a new layer above the one with the rectangle. Right Click > Mask on the new layer. Now unlock the top layer and pick your paintbrush (B) or line tool (N), whichever makes you comfortable, and go at it! Draw your name, your mom's name, your dog's name, draw whatever you want, BUT make sure you haven't filled it in yet. Zoom in too look for any unclosed gaps, close them in and then use your fill tool (K) to fill in the letters, or whatever you drew, with black. Now, go back to the main timeline (double click anywhere on the screen) and look at your creation! Looks good doesn't it?
