Now I want to midify the size of the highlight. For this exercise I will need to see one of the buttons below. I turn on the pill shape layer's visibility again, by clicking the eye icon on it.
I want the highlight to be less wide and just about half the height of the
button.
I switch to the Free Transform Tool
, choose View > Hide
Edges, and start editing
the
shape.
Finally I move it a bit down from the shape's top. (By hitting the down arrow
once.)

When satisfied, I convert it to a movie clip symbol,
named "highlight".
Finally I edited the over all transparency of the highlight, by choosing Alpha in
the
Color drop down menu (Properties panel). I used an alpha of
75%.
Here's mine, still with the dark background.
See it's got a bit more roundness to it now?

You can stop here, or, if you want a light background, you should have a shadow
underneath your button, to indicate that the light shines through it.

Now she's a full time student at the University of Oslo, Informatics of course, while giving some classes at rare occasions. (Who in this business' got money today?) :) |
