Adding The Actions

Now it's just a matter of filling in the blanks (actions). Let's start with the buttons. Select the button in the first frame, double click on it and select the actions tab. If you need help on adding actions check out the tutorial. Now add the following actions:

On (Release)
  Go to and Play (2)
End On

This jumps the playhead to the second frame where it will wait for second click or play the single click actions if the second click does not eventuate. Next we are going to add the actions to the second button. Go to the second frame on the button layer, double click on the button and select the actions tab. Now add these actions:

On (Release)
Set Variable: "/:text" = "Double Click"
Comment: Add your double click actions here
Go to and Play (1)
End On

These actions will only be invoked if the second click occurs within the timeframe allocated (determined by the number of frames between the second frame and the last frame. In this case it's 4 frames. Once the actions have been invoked the movie clip will return to frame 1 and wait for another click. So what about if no click eventuates? What about the single click?

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
