Step 4:
Now select the first frame and left-click on the
Image movie clip. Right-click and select properties(if it isn't checked yet). In the right part of the Properties bar, you will see the color. Change none to alpha. Then set the value to say 50. (The lower the value, the more transparent your object will be when the mouse is not over it). Enable the library and duplicate Fadein. Rename it Fadeout.
Edit fadeout, and click on frame 1. Click on the object and change again the alpha value to 100(in the properties). Click on frame 15, Click on the object, and then change the alpha value to 50(or whatever you placed in place of 50).
Step 5:
Go back to the main scene. Create a new symbol (ctrl+F8),
name it Fadebutton. Now edit it by right-clicking on Fadebutton in the Library (Ctrl+L). On the timeline, you will see there
only 4 frames -- UP, OVER, DOWN and HIT. Up is when the button is normal. Over is when the mouse is over the button. Select UP frame and insert the Fadeout button. In the properties, remember the X and Y value. Select OVER and insert Fadein button. Input the same X and Y values for
positioning accuracy.
