Ok, I've been and some of you had been wondering how the heck did 2advanced and other folks do those shinny effects running around their objects. Well, I figured it out... so I'm sharing the knowledge.
What am I talking about? I'm talking about this:
Ok, first of all, start a new flash document, set the background color to black (or appropriated background color), and default size is fine. If you have an image you want to use, go ahead; I have this if you don't have one:
Import the image to the stage, you probably need to resize it a bit, so resize it. Then insert a new layer call it "mask" or something.
Now the fun part, On the mask layer, using the line tool and start drawing lines like such, but don't go crazy with the lines, just draw the areas you want to "shine":
Once you done that, still on the mask layer, select all the lines, then Modify -> Shape -> Convert Lines to Fills (see screenshot). Sometimes the lines gone missing, in that case, undo and convert again.
Now, create a new layer under the mask layer, call it "effect" or whatever. On this layer, draw a retangular box with the following gradient fill in it:
Just white and light grey is fine. Convert the gradient box to a Graphic symbol, name it whatever you want. Now, drag however many frames you want for the animation for all three layers. On the effect layer, just do a simple left to right animation for the gradient box. And then, right click on the mask layer and convert it to a mask.
And finally, Ctrl+Enter to test the movie. YOU'RE DONE!!!
If you need the fla file, here it is
I hope you folks enjoy this!
