Variable Tracking 
To make it easier to understand I've included text variables outside of the movie's boundaries that track the x and y positions of the magnifier and of the bigpic movie clip. You will be able to see these in the test movie screen. To make it updatable, I added a 3rd frame with a simple action to go to the previous frame (that I labeled "two") and play. If I didn't add this loop the frame variables would be read only once. With 3rd frame added the timeline, once it reaches frame 3, is sent back to frame 2 to get an updated position of variable x_mask and y_mask.
