The Right Effect

The effects for the right hand side are almost identical to create.

1. Create the letters, and light beams as previously described, making the light beams a little longer.
2. Create the frames for the effect as before, and put a keyframe at either end of the light beam layer.
3. You have to work backwards here, and scale the First frame, not the last frame to get the effect, this is why the beam has to be a little longer! The do the alpha tweening and letter tweening as described above.
4. Make sure you have the letters on top of the effect, and in the right display order!

Thats it! Now you have to play with the timing, frame rate, and the shapes to get the perfect effect!

This tutorial should give you the stepping stones to getting the effect down. Its not easy, and its hard to get all the perspectives, tweens and angles right. It takes patience! And a lot of trial and error. You can get all the files used in this tutorial from the link below.
