6. Repeat this process for each of the letters, making the beams shorter and wider as the letters get closer to the centre.
7. To create the effect, you need to then manipulate the layers. Fade the actual letter symbol from alpha transparency of 0% to 100%. You also need to manipulate the light beam effect. To do this I placed the number of frames I wanted the light effect to span, and set a key frame at the start and the end. On the last keyframe I scaled the light to my desired requirements, and created a motion tween between the first and last frames. In the middle I created another key frame. Then I set the first and last frames to have an alpha transpareny of 0%, this creates the movement and fade effects. You will have to play with the timing to get the perfect effect. Pull down the zipped files at the end of the tute to see my timing.
