This is a comprehensive and detailed tutorial on creating the now quite famed "Ray of Light" light beam effect. It was written with advice from the creator of the actual effect Yasuto Suga.

To start with, lets have a look at the effect, the best example is seen at the Ray of Light website, click the logo on the homepage, but for demonstration purposes, click the Flash Kit text below.
