Interlocking Letters
Author: Arran Schlosberg
This is quite a simple graphical technique that can be used in all versions of flash as well as some other graphics programs. It produces two or more letters that have the effect that they interlock, great for logos etc.
The Creation
Creating this effect can be achieved in 5 easy steps:
- Select the two letters you want to use in the effect and place them on two separate layers on the stage, using the colours, fonts etc. that you require
- Select the the letter that you want to loop in and out of the other letter and make a copy of it on a new layer so that there are two layers with one letter and the third layer, with the second letter is in between them
- Line up the letters how you would like them to lie, making sure that the two layers with the same letter line up to make it look like there is only one letter
- Lock the bottom two layers and select the letter in the top layer and break it apart (Ctrl+B)
- Where ever you want the letter to look like it is going behind the other letter, select that part and delete it
