How to make a lightsaber woth the Softem fill edges option

Ok...Start off by making a movieclip;call it light saber.Now make two layers call the top layer glow and the bottom layer handle.Ok now to make the the 'light'-ness.Draw a Rectangle on the top layer.Delete te lines sorounding it
.select it and go to the modify dropdown menu.then goto shape->soften fill edges.A menu will pop up,for the distance enter 15 px,set the number of steps to 50 so it looks nice,and finally select the bubble next to expand and hit ok.Now Delete the inner most rectangle.now select the inner most ring of the fade...then modify->shape->soften fill edges.Leave everything the same exept change the direction to Insert.Now create a handle so that your character may hold the lightsaber.And there you have it!You can also use the Soften fill edges option to create cool effects like light from a candle.
