Now is a great time to bring up your mixer tab, because you will need it in the next step!
Copy the current frame, create a new layer, and paste the frame in the first frame of the new layer. This should give you two exactly the same 'balls' ontop of each other.
Lock layer 1, and create a gradient similar to that in the fill tab above. Keep in mind, the white of the gradient MUST be transparent, and the black, opaque.
Use the paint bucket tool to fill the ball in layer two with the new gradient, making sure you click in the center of the ball. It should now look like this.
You can now unlock layer one and group each layer, and combine to create the finished object, but I am pretty sure you will know how to do that without further explanation.
