Whilst not having all the compression capabilites of sorenson technologies, Swishvideo2 is a highly useful inexpensive tool for converting a wide selection of video formats to .swf or .flv and unlike competitors you can store and send variables from the timeline to the parent movie IN FLV

The process is simple.

Import a vid format (.wmv, .mov .mpeg .avi) from the file menu. From there you can use either SwishVideo's easy settings or manually set the parameters of your movie using the tabs. Making it easy for the novice or precise for the advanced user.
