Introduction
Ok Mac users it's your turn. Now you can get busy making 3D on those apple boxes just like all the PC guys out there. Swift 3D has done it again. I had the privilege of beta testing the Mac product for erain and all I have to say is it works better in the Mac then it did on my Athlon 550. I mean it! It actually rendered faster on my 7100/66 faster than my Athlon. I was astonished. It wasnt lightning but it was faster.
I tested the new Mac package on three different apple boxes. A 500 G3 Power book with 500 Megs of ram running OS 9. A 7300 running 80 megs of ram running OS 8.5 and a 7100/66 with 80 megs of ram with OS 8.0. While early on there were a few bugs, John Souice the Lead Programmer at erain worked at fever pitch to get the new builds out to the beta testers to romp on. I have to say after several weeks of pounding on the product, I'm glad to say that its ready for prime time. I dont think we'll see many problems with the product as the Mac is an integrated system. The only problems reported so far have been from a wacom tablet. The drivers had a bit of a conflict with the package but the fix is already in the making so you should be able to download the update as soon as you buy the package.
For those of you who have used the PC version, there aren't any new changes or improvements to the product since its debut in April. It's just a Mac version of the program.
