The Pope's Word
Ok lets talk SWfx.
This is the latest text effect product to hit the streets. You get a huge 100 effects for only $19.00 USD thats not bad considering you also can create your own effects and save them for use over and over. The interface is easy to navigate and use. As you can see, you simply type the text you want, select the effect. Pick an attribute for the movie or font, click on the auto preview and watch the show.
When you find the effect you want simply save the SWF file. Whether your effect uses flash 3 or 4 script will determine if you can import it directly into flash or have to use the load movie command to use it. The effects highlighted are flash 4 are script dependent and require the load movie command. Over all, this is a great product and is much easier to use than some of the other text effect interfaces like swish which require you to go from screen to screen. This just does it all up front.
Just a note what you gain by that simple interface is what you give up on control over each of the separate attributes of the file like fade rates, etc.
This is a product that is aimed at newbies and professionals who just want to have effects on hand if needed in pinch. I would call it the "Power Point" of text effect engines for flash. A simple interface with professional results. While its has some small draw backs like the "load movie" for some of the SWFs it produces. Its well worth the money and would be a good choice for those who dont want to have to create their own effects but want the option if they decide to.
