| FK: Hmmm, sounds like a problem.
|
| NB: No, it's not a problem. I can tell you what we think about them but it's
not appropriate for me to comment on what they think about us. I would hope
that they value what we're doing with their technologies. I think :Fx is a
benchmark and a very important milestone for Macromedia and Flash. :Fx is
one of the first true Flash applications and many people are watching us to
see how we do. We've banked the entire company on using Flash to create a
viable business. I can tell you that VCs, analysts and developers are all
watching us to see if we made a mistake in choosing Flash. That question has
come up over and over again. It has been difficult - convincing VC's to
invest in a company centered on Flash but in the end we accomplished what we
set out to do and now it remains to be seen if the technology holds up and
can scale with the demands of the company. If we succeed then we have helped
to open up a new era in Flash application development. That will be good for
Macromedia, other developers like those on this board and of course
Balthaser.

| FK: And if you fail?
|
| NB: And if we fail I and the rest of the team will still be proud of what
we've created. :Fx is a beautiful piece of technology. It's a wonderful
marriage of user experience, entertainment, application programming and
online. At the very least we've taken a chance. We've pushed the state of
the art and we've created something new and remarkable. Whatever happens, we
can be proud of that. And at the end of the day, that's really what it's all
about isn't it?
