More and more clients are requesting interactive CD ROMS, kiosks, standalone videos, games and the like from their chosen designer(s). It would appear that you need everything from DV editing software to a research paper on the history of Atari. Well, that's an extreme case, but let me explain. When beginning to learn something new, people in general tend to go out and purchase everything that even mentions the name of whatever it is that they're learning. Why? Because hardly anything covers all of the basics. That's why there are so many books on beginning this and starting that. Let's get back to the point though. The client requests a kiosk, interactive CD or what-have-you. You have the software (in our case Director 8.5), only you aren't quite sure where to begin. You haven't got the time nor the money to go build your own library of Director books. What you need is a single volume of text to show you the basics. Something to get you started in the right direction. What you need is Foundation Director 8.5 by Friends of ED.
