If you're just beginning to use the program, then start at the beginning and learn what you need to know. If you've been using the program for a bit and feel comfortable with it, then pick it up where you need to. For the beginner, it's perfect in teaching the proper techniques that should be used with the program. For the intermediate or advanced designer, it acts as a reference. I refer to it often myself. There's a lot of information on the web and it's hard to keep it all intact in your head. Friends of ED helps you keep a good mental file system. I've been in the middle of a project and had a brain cramp so bad that I forgot how to mask some text. Remembering was as easy as picking up the book Foundation Flash 5 and skipping to the section on masking. The tutorials and instrutions are detailed enough to show you what's going on, but not so much that they lose you in techno-jargon. Well worth the cost. If you're a flash developer who's been doing it for years or the beginner just getting started, then grab this book.Only one name has stood out among the best book resources for the flash developer.
