Introduction

Flash Games Studio gets started with a quick introduction to how gaming works, and briefly goes over some of the major types of game play out there. Then from there it moves right into creating games – it starts from the basics (of Flash game play, not just Flash) and quickly moves into some fully-fledged game examples. Since games work around user interactivity this book really goes over that, and shares some useful tips even for people who are not just planning to develop a game.

This book is written by some of the top Flash game designers in the industry Sham Bhangal, Igor Choromanski, David Doull (of artifactinteractive.com.au), Justin Everett-Church (of estudio.com), Thomas Poeser, Glen Rhodes (glenrhodes.com), and Kevin Sutherland. All of these authors really know their stuff about Flash and it shows. One of the last chapters fully explains developing an online Racing Game so you and your friends can go head to head in a multiplayer racing game.
