Shared Symbol Libraries

Design and development teams working on Flash Web sites and Web applications have grown from a single person team to teams of up to twenty people focusing on the development a single project. These teams share hundreds of asset files during development and experience asset management problems common to larger teams.

The shared symbol libraries will allow multiple people working on the same project to access assets from an externally stored, common symbol library. Any changes to content in the shared library are reflected across project files, using shared elements within a file.

Shared symbols only need to be downloaded once and can be reused across any number of files referring to the shared symbol. The result of this will be dramatically reduced download times and an improved viewing experience.
