Closing Thoughts

Well there you go, it's pretty impressive heh? The guys and gals at Macromedia have been working hard to produce something that reinforces their position as the market leader in interactive online multimedia. There is nothing in the market that compares, even Adobe's Livemotion, full credit to their team tho.

Macromedia have recognized where the web should go and have built a development tool that not only enables smick animations to be produced but also caters for XML, technical illustrators and large-scale Flash development. A big plus in my books is the fact that Flash 5 will take the burden of programming off the designers and back onto the programmers by making it easy for nerdy javascripters to make the transition to ActionScript :)

So what's bad about it?
Flash 5 isn't all razzle and dazzle, it does have some limitations. It's ability to deal with ActionScript intensive movies and alphas wasn't great in Flash 4, in Flash 5 there is a noticeable improvement in performance but it still needs more. Most designers won't require this kind of functionality as what is being created currently is largely aesthetic but as demand for functional Flash-only sites and web applications increase, programmers will begin to require Flashplayer to perform under stress.

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
