Making the CDs draggable (cont.)
Click back on the main timeline, and go to the Library panel. Locate the cd_mc1
movie clip and either right click on PC, or control-click on Mac. Select "Duplicate"
then rename it to cd_mc2. Drop cd_mc2 onto the cd2 layer. Repeat this as many
times as needed depending on how many CDs you want to have. Just make sure you
modify the code for each as follows.
From the main timeline click on cd_mc2 and change the Object Actions panel to
read:
onClipEvent (load) {
var orgX2 = _x;
var orgY2 = _y;
}
See the numbering system yet? Pretty obvious I guess. Next double click on cd_mc2 and change the nested button's actions accoringly and repeat for however many CDs you want to have:
on (press) {
this.startDrag(false);
}
on (release) {
this.stopDrag();
if (eval(this._droptarget) == eval("/player/tray")) {
unloadMovieNum (12);
loadMovie ("volume2.swf", 12);
_root.cdText = "Song Name 2";
_x = orgX2;
_y = orgY2;
}
else if (eval(this._droptarget) != eval("/player/tray")){
_x = orgX2;
_y = orgY2;
}
}
Our last 2 steps on this part are simply creating the variable for our dynamic text and adding some background art work for the envelope layer (optional).
On the playerText layer create a new text field over your CD player movie clip. In the Text Options panel select "Dynamic text" and enter the variable "cdText". Then in the first frame of your actions layer on the main timeline add this to the frame actions panel to let your users know what they're supposed to do:
cdText = "<-- Put a CD in the tray";
