Creating the Head

Now let's recreate the actions and MC to develop a basic understanding of the Hit Test method. It is important to note that this is only one way of doing it.

Step 1 : Start by creating a new movie.

Choose File > New.

Step 2 : Create a new Movie Clip.

Choose Insert > New Symbol. After making sure that the Movie Clip option has been selected, enter a name for the Clip (I used "boogiehead") and press OK.

Step 3 : Edit the Movie Clip

Draw the head of the boogie man here or place any picture that you want to use as the target. Once you have created the head, switch back to the main timeline by selecting the Scene 1 tab above the list of layers.
