Have you already completed Mick Herres' Efficient Draggable Scrolling tutorial(s) at flashzone.com? Do you understand how it works? If not please go back and study that tutorial before proceeding. The following tutorial is largely based upon Mick's work, and at times I used the same movie clip instance names, layer names, frame labels, and so on. Note that my tutorial only applies these scroll features to movie clips, NOT to text fields. Also note that this tutorial is for FLASH 5 ONLY. (Mick's tutorial was written for Flash 4, but many of the same concepts and conventions carry over.) My source FLA file cannot be opened in Flash 4, and the ActionScript code is optimized for Flash 5's new object-oriented ActionScript language. With all of that aside, let's get to it...
