Integrating Flash and NetMeeting with JavaScript
Author: Kieran Mc Nally
Step 3.
Open mymovie.html and look for the lines where it says: // place your code here.
Delete those lines and insert the following lines:
if(command == "call"){
NetMeeting.CallTo(args);
}
Step 4.
In the same html file below the last piece of javascript add the following code:
< object ID=NetMeeting CLASSID="CLSID:3E9BAF2D-7A79-11d2-9334-0000F875AE17"> <PARAM NAME = "MODE" VALUE = "Full"> </object>
Step 5.
Now save mymovie.html and open it in a browser. If the user does not have netmeeting installed the browser will install it. Click the flash button and the call will be made to the IP address you have given it. Essentially the flash is passing the command and the IP address to the javascript which is sending it to netmeeting. You could have another button with the fs command:
fscommand ("leave");
and javascript:
if(command == "leave"){
NetMeeting.LeaveConference();
}
This will allow NetMeeting to exit the conference.
Conclusions:
If you have access to a server you could have a list of users who are online. Clicking their name would allow a user to video conference another user (assuming your server can retrieve the IP address!) Good luck.
