Select Colour

You will want to select a color from the drop down menu with the fill paint bucket beside it. As the color you want to make your button. I have chosen a nasty green color for this tutorial. After you have selected the draw rectangles tool and selected your color all you have to do is mouse click on drag to create your button. You will want to make it about the size you will actually want the button in your flash project. It will look something like the following illustration
