Minimize & Maximize

Now for the cool minimize button. This uses the tell target action.

You create a keyframe on frame 5 of the Menu movie. Make the minimized window. Mine looks like this:

Go back to frame one and convert the minimize button to an actual button called "minimize". Assign this action to it:

on (release) {
tellTarget ("/menu") {
gotoAndStop (5);

This makes the button go into the movie "menu" and stop on frame 5.
Do the same with the maximize button but make it go to frame 1.

As you can see you can customize this quite a bit, and this is just a simple tutorial to get you on your feet. If you have any questions let me know.

Everything I learned in flash I learned from Flashkit. No lie. There wasn't a tutorial on how to make a draggable menu so I decided to make one myself.

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
