Adding the scrollbuttons and nessary triggers.

Step 4 :

Next thing to do is to make a new button which will do the scroll up/down, the drag-scrollbar we'll add later. Give it any shape you like, in general arrows are used and name it scroll klick button. After you created the button, make a new layer above the text layer in Movie Clip textMC and rename it to click buttons. Place an instance of the scroll klick button on the click buttons layer. Place another one and rotate it 180 degrees. If you made no backgroundrectangle for the drag-scroll-button, place them so that you will have space for the dragable scrollbutton inbetween.

Step 5 :

And at this point comes the trick of click&hold down the buttons. The actions to scroll the text are not attached directly to the buttons. We are going to create two Movie Clip of 3 frames which will be 'asleep' at frame 1, but will loop between frame 2 and 3 as long as 1 of the scroll klick buttons is pressed. The loop between frame 2 and 3 will have actions which scrolls the text. So create a Movie Clip and name it scrollDown, create another one and name it scrollUp. Open the Movie Clip textMC and create a new layer called triggers above the layer click buttons. At frame 1 of layer triggers, insert a empty keyframe and place an instance of Movie Clip scrollDown and Movie Clip scrollUp. They will only show small circels since they don't contain images/content. Now we'll make the actions for these triggers.

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
