Make the IconsThe icons that you decide to create should be relatively small. I will usually create a 128 pixel image in Photoshop, then paste it into flash and scale as necessary. 1) Create a new button symbol (command+F8). I'll make the HOME button first. Name your button (Home Button for me) and insert the image(s) you want to use for this button. I usually will invert the image in Photoshop for the down button.
2) Now create a new movie clip symbol (command+F8). Give it the name of your button and place the button inside it.
3) At this point I will add text under my picture as a caption (I don't want the text to actually be part of the button). You should also resize the button so the width and height will be no more than 36 pixels.
4) Next, pull up the alignment window and horizontally align the image to the center of the screen and vertically align it to the top edge. If you want the icons to zoom up from the bottom, then vertically align the image to the bottom edge.
Repeat the process for each of your menu buttons.
