On Release Event If the user releases the slider, the dragging is stopped and we are recalculating the variable "redVal" which holds the exact red component value (The calculation method is the same for every exact color slider). on (release) {
stopDrag ();
_root.redVal = int((_root.redSlider._x-18)*2-100);
We check the red slider X property, takes 18 from it (so the range will be 0 to 100) , multiplying it by 2 (this will gives us 0 to 200 range), and substract 100 from the result (so it becomes -100 to 100). _root.myColorizing(_root.redVal,_root.redValOffset,_root.greenVal,_root.greenValOffset, _root.blueVal,_root.blueValOffset,_root.alphaVal,_root.alphaValOffset); This long line of code simply calls our function ("myColorizing") with all the color components values (that we see in the fields on the stage). The offset values are working in the same way but because we need to recieve a range of -255 to 255, we need another calculation. Also, the sliders are dragged from 175px to 275 px so we need to calculate that too: _root.redValOffset = int((_root.redOffsetSlider._x-175)*5.1-255);This will give us the offset range (-255 to 255) - just try and see. This method is very easy to work with. You can make some colored buttons with fixed variables, and make yourself a nice color palette for example. Enjoy it!
