How do I Print?
You can print flash content using two methods. Firstly, you can click on the Print command in the Flash Player context menu. This is great for a prepared movie but disasterous the movie is not print friendly. It also, in my opinion, lacks the sophistication the second option, in addition, you will only be able to print from the main timeline and not any movie clips on the timeline. The other option is to disable the first option and create a button in your movie that executes the print command. This option allows for the printing of an instance of a movie which is more stylish and gives you, the developer, more control over the printable content.
What does this mean for me?
Your Flash movie is now a very important tool, over 200 million flash players are out there, that's a big market! Not only can you have a funky web animation drumming up business but your visitor can click on your print button and out pops high-quality, full colour copies of every important frame in the presentation to form a newsletter or brochure.
What's better is your button can be embeded on a web page which would contain, unseen to the visitor, all the frames to be printed. You can allow your visitor to print forms, photos, reciepts, posters, catalogs, data sheets, letters, invoices, coupons, literature, marketing material, and even something like a customisable christmas card. The list is endless.
