Step 2
3) Next we want to make our circle a symbol. If you had other layers in your movie that contained content, I would suggest locking all the layers you are not working on in order to transform and edit only that content we are targeting. Select the circle. Make sure the outline and the fill are both selected. An easy way to do this is the click on the Layer until it is highlighted black. This will select everything on that stage that occupies that layer. 4) Once the circle is selected press your F8 key. A dialogue box will appear. Make sure the button check box is selected. Name the symbol something appropriate (e.g. myButton1) and press OK. NOTE: Naming symbols is important. Create a personal system which helps you identify the symbol so that you can grab it on the fly when adding symbols from a library. Having 200 symbols named untitled-01 through untitled-200 is not a good way to go about editing in Flash.
