NOTE: This flash tutorial is done in Flash MX 2004; however, it is easily adapted to every release of Flash down to Flash 4. The differences you might experience are locating certain editing features such as “Create Motion Tween” in the drop down menu. To make the tutorial compatible with all versions of Flash I will use the F keys and other keyboard strokes to call editing functions and windows--and explain as needed.
1) Open Flash and create a new document. The default document size is adequate for our purpose.
2) Select your appropriate drawing tool and draw a circle.
Your editing window should look like Figure 1.
