Terminology I
To begin with let's start with some key terminology. These terms will also help you in your professional life working with studio artists and others.
Abstraction - the arrangement of natural or non-representational objects by the artist for the needs of organization and expression.
Aesthetic(s) - This is the psychology, sociology as well as the traditional philosophy of the visual form of a work.
Conceptual Perception - The part of creative vision founded in imagination.
Content - The meaning of a work of art.
Decorative Art - Art that emphasizes the two dimensions of the x and the y planes. Making the picture appear flat.
Design - The plan by which an artist bases their project. This term is closely related to Form.
Form - The organization or arrangement of all the elements according to principals that will bring the piece into unity.
