Quick Reference : Drawing in Flash

To draw with a pencil

  1. Select the pencil tool
  2. Choose a drawing mode
  3. Straighten - Straight Lines
  4. Smooth - Smooth Curves
  5. Ink - Free hand
  6. Drag the line on the stage

To draw a shape or line

  1. Select the tool you wish to use
  2. Choose the stroke and fill attributes (not available for line tool).
  3. For rectangle specify a radius
  4. Drag the shape on the stage

To draw using the brush tool

  1. Select the brush tool
  2. Choose a painting mode:
  3. Paint Normal - paints over lines and fills on the same layer.
  4. Paint Behind - paints in blank areas of the Stage, leaving lines and fills unaffected.
  5. Paint Fills - paints fills and empty areas, leaving lines unaffected.
  6. Paint Selection - paints the selected fill.
  7. Paint Inside - paints the fill in which you start a brush stroke and never paints lines. It's just like a colouring book!!
  8. Choose Brush options
  9. size
  10. shape
  11. colour
  12. Drag on the stage.
