1. Firstly you need to install Macromedia's Flash Player 5 available here and the Flash authoring environment, Flash 4.0. Now if you are reading this tutorial you should know that Flash 4 has been superceded by Flash 5. However this tutorial hasn't been pulled due to the large number of users still learning Flash 4. 2. Once you have installed these programs you're ready to do some serious learning. Open Flash and you will see the following. I've labeled all the important bits for you.
