Alright, thanks for tuning in. Let's get started!

I will be using Flash 8 for this, but you can use MX and MX 2004 if you want.

First, create a text box by clicking on the 'A' or by pressing [T].

Then change the type (1) to 'Input Text'. Change the variable (2) to User.

Next create another text box, and change it's type to 'Dynamic Text' in it's variable slot, put in User as well.

To make the boxes show up, you can click the 'Show Border around Text' button.(3)
Now test the movie ([ctrl]+[enter] or {Control} > {Test Movie}).
If you type in the input text box, it will show up in the dynamic test box. So if you have a lose screen or info screen, you just put a dynamic text box there and make its variable User (or anything you want, as long as you use the same variable you gave to the input text box) then it will show the person's name or User name!

Now I'll show you how to make a Password/Username System

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
