Step 1) The button
First of all you need the script. Draw yourself a button anywhere on the stage. Label the button "ask".
Step 2) The Script
If your Actions panel is on "Normal Mode" Switch it to expert mode. Type the following script
function ansGen() {
generate = random(5);
ans = ["You'll find out in due time",
"Yes, of course",
"No",
"Maybe",
"I'm not saying yes, I'm not saying no"];
_root.textbox = ans[generate];
}
ansGen();
}
You can change the quotes to whatever you like, if you delete or add more quotes, be sure to change the "random(5);" number to how ever many quotes you have.
Step 3) The Textboxes 1
Create a "Dynamic Textbox" where you want the quote to appear on the screen. Set the variable of this textbox as textbox.
Step 4) The textboxes 2
For the question, create an "Input Textbox" where you want the question to be typed in.
Step 5) Finishing Touches.
If you like you can draw an animated "Psychic" Character on the screen which adds to the mystical effect! Also, you'll need to add a title. If you like, you can move the "Dynamic textbox" to a different frame which starts with a flash, then ends with a flash which takes you back to the insert question frame. If you do this make sure you add
on (release) {
gotoAndPlay(the frame the Dynamic textbox is in);
}
This is so the button will take you to the frame that shows the "Psychic" Answer.
