1. Create an input text box (do this by creating a regular textbox, but in properties, change the drop-down menu in the top-left to read "Input Text").
2. In propeties, type code where it says "Var" (near the bottom-right).
3. Make a "Submit" or "OK" button (you can create a rectangle, select it, press F8 and select "Button").
4. Give the button you just made the following actionscript:
on (release) {
if (_root.code == "CodeForLevel1") {
gotoAndStop(FrameForLevel1)
}
if (_root.code == "CodeForLevel2") {
gotoAndStop(WHATEVER FRAME)
}
if (_root.code == "CodeForLevel3") {
gotoAndStop(WHATEVER FRAME)
}
}
5. Now look at the code and you are going to have to make some changes. Replace the CodeForLevel1 with whatever you want the code for Level 1 to be, the CodeForLevel2 with whatever you want the code for Level 2 to be, and so on. Then replace the FrameForLevel1 with whatever frame level 1 is on, and so on. Note that you can also add more codes for more levels by just copying this:
if (_root.code == "") {
gotoAndStop()
}
and pasting it right under the last one, with of course filling the blanks in.
Note: Remember to keep the quotation marks ("s). Just change the phrase/word inside them.
6. TEST IT! :) Download the .fla file or e-mail me for any problems. You can check the next page if you want to know how the actionscript actually works.
If you want to see the end result but are too lazy to download it, it's here.
