Hit Area

The hit area is the area where you can click and it registers your click as a hit in the game. Open up your hitarea button symbol. You will notice that it has a timeline at the top that is not so familiar looking. It has four tabs at the top: Up, Over, Down, and Hit. The "up" tab is what the button looks like when the cursor isn't on it. The "over" tab defines the button's picture when the cursor is over the button. The "down" tab is what the button looks like when you click on it. The "hit" tab is the area that can be clicked to count as clicking the button. All we are concerned with right now are the hit and down tabs. Make a new layer, so that you have two layers now, and make keyfames (F6) out of all the frames under the tabs in each layer. In the keyframe under the "hit" tab in one layer drag the "sprite" symbol onto the screen and position it at (0,0) via the properties inspector. Under the down tab in the other layer drag the "enemyhit" symbol if you chose to make one. If you didn't make one you don't need the second layer.
