Hey, In this tutorial I am going to teach you how to make a custom cursor selection menu for games! Please read carefully to make sure you get nothing wrong, if you really can't seem to grasp it, you can download the source .FLA to see where you are going wrong.

P.S. This tutorial requires basic actionscript and flash knowledge.

STEP 1 - The Cursors

Ok first things first, start up flash and create a blank document.

On the stage, draw a choise of cursors that you wish to be included in your menu, I drew 4. Once you've done that, convert them all to Graphics by pressing the "F8" key on your keyboard. Call them what you want. Once you've done all that, you can move them aside or delete them from the stage (they'll be in the library so you won't need them till later).

I've been a flash developer for about 2-3 years now, i never realised how complicated it would be :S I prefer making games to animations, but I'll try anything once :)

» Description: Hmm... what to say about this one? It's reminiscent of the closing notes of the opening music from the Three Stooges done in a church organ style with a closing cymbal crash. I'll give this one away gratis, but feel free to check out my free loops and potential upcoming license-mandated ones over in the respective part of Flashkit.
