Just to get you started, this tutorial isnt perfect, but will give you an idea of some physics.By the end of this tutorial you should hopefully have:A sun (lightsource) A character with a shadow, which depends where the sun is.Ok, start by opening up Flash, and create a new document. Since I cannot draw very good people, I will use a tree, courtesy of ChrisF. You can draw whatever you want. Hightlight the character, and convert him to a symbol (see note). To convert to a symbol, press F8 once highlighted, or go to insert - new symbol.
It doesnt matter what you call it, just make sure it is a movie clip, with a registration point of middle, bottom.--- --- -0-Like that press OK. Next you need to draw a sun, I didnt do anything special, a yellow circle will do fine. Select it, and press F8 / convert it to a symbol. MAKE SURE that it has a registration point of the middle, middle.--- -0- ---Press ok. Select it, and look at the property inspector (window - properties, if you cant find it). Give it the Instance name of "sun" (no quotes) Now, Draw what you think the shadow would look like. In most cases it is just a copy of the character, with a black / grey fill. Convert it to a symbol, MAKE SURE you give it the same registration point as you did for the character. press ok. '
