Author: Zoubin Zarin
| Website: http://www.zarinmedia.com/ |
Introduction
It is important to note that this tutorial has two main parts. Firstly we will create a dynamic graph that refreshes with random numbers. Secondly we'll then look at a practical application of the dynamic graph by replacing the random numbers with values from a text file. So let's begin.
Dynamic Graph with Random Numbers
To construct a simple, self-updating graph that draws upon random results to graphically express data. Create a new movie and place four layers on the main timeline.
Layer 1 "
Actions" - where all the scripting will go
Layer 2 "
Refresh button" - a button to keep generating random results
Layer 3 "
Bars" - this layer will have the instances of the "bar" movie clip
Layer 4 "
Graph" - the actual graph background will be on this layer
