What are some of the benefits of Flash?
With version 4, Macromedia introduced Flash's own scripting language called ActionScript. This really allowed the sites to interact with the users and some of the more advanced sites looked more like operating systems than static web sites, buttons, controls, dragable windows - all located inside the browser. The newest version 5 has a revamped ActionScript language, now object-oriented and similar to JavaScript, has a fully integrated development environment. This means that Flash can now talk to back-end databases, be dynamic and create complete web applications, all the while visually shines beautifully in the foreground for the user to see. Flash developers can also create wonderful vector based images in the application itself using the tools included. Thereby allowing developers to create the buttons, individual movies, and some fantastic effects that are used to ultimately create a Flash file to be placed on a web site (or placed on a CD-Rom for distribution), while at the same time maintaining small file-size for seamless streaming over the Internet. The application provides professional web designers with one of the most complete tool sets around, thereby giving site users and customers astounding multimedia experiences that are functional at the same time.| » Level Basic |
