Step 1

Highlight a frame on a layer to insert your gif.file into.
Select [FILE] import
Select your gif. file and select open.

This will place your animated file in several frames on the time line. GREAT !
If you select [Control] test movie the gif.file will play but will remain stationary on your screen. This is exactly what it should do.
