Create The Greeting Text Animation

Double click the Text Movie Clip to work inside it. We want to make each letter of the text as single graphic. Break the text apart by clicking Modify > Break Apart or hitting Ctrl + B. Then use Modify > Distribute to Layers or Ctrl + Shift + D . This last action automatically distribute each letter for different layer and only available for flash MX. If you work with lower version, you have to manually distribute it to layers.

Now we want to make each letter animate. For example, we start with letter M. At the first keyframe, put the position of M out of the stage, where you wish the letter will come from. At keyframe 11 (or any position you like), move the position of M to the position inside the stage, where yo wish the letter with stop. Between its start and end keyframe, create a motion tweening by right clicking > choose Create Motion Tween or Window > Property, select Motion Tween . Look at the sample of text motion tweening at this picture below:

Repeat those steps above for other letters. You can make the text animation slower or faster by adjusting the lenght of keyframe tweened.
