Tracing Anime and other things in Flash

How Do I Go About Tracing Anime?
So you have a picture, maybe a screenshot of something you like, or you've drawn and colored something yourself and you would like to do the same in Flash.
First of all let's pre-suppose that you already have a drawing scanned in or in some format on your computer...

Here I have started with a 640x480 picture that I found on ANIMETHEME in the Miscellaneous Gallery there. It is good to practise with well-drawn professional artists first while you get the hang of it.
This tutorial will get you used to drawing inside Flash like a pro, so that ultimately you can do your own original work from original skeleton sketches, without having to do detail except inside Flash itself.

The author is a mere amateur at flash, having dipped his hands into it quite recently. He came from a background in photo-manipulation in newspapers, while pursuing film and animation on the side, to getting a gig as a full-bore web designer. Now he is tackling tutorial writing for Flash-kit.
