You're History // Step 4
As you can see, this calls a function I have stored in an MC in the main (master) flash piece that has an instance name of "mc_functions." Let's look at the code for the function:
// ///////////////////////////////////////////
// history object functions
// //////////////////////////////////////////
function go () {
trace(_level0.history[_level0.history.length-2]);
if (_level0.history[_level0.history.length-2] == "page1") {
_level0.onPage1 = "yes";
unloadMovie (_level0.mc_loader);
} else {
// trace("im going to load " + _level0.history[_level0.history.length-2] + ".swf");
loadMovie (_level0.history[_level0.history.length-2]+".swf", "_level0.mc_loader");
_level0.onPage1 = "no";
}
_level0.history.splice(_level0.history.length-1, 1);
}
// /////////////////////////////////////////////
// omniMode & linking functions
// ////////////////////////////////////////////
function omniLink (pageToLoad) {
loadMovie (pageToLoad+".swf", "_root.mc_loader");
_root.cameFrom = _root.referrer;
}
Ok, first we check if we are on the first page - if so we don't do anything. If we are not trying to go back to the main page (say from page3.swf to page2.swf), then we need to see what the previous movie was. The else statement checks this by looking at the array and grabbing the last page visited. We also set the variable onPage1 equal to "no."
We also provide some linking control to easily link to your external movies. I call this omniMode because you can access any external movie at anytime, from anywhere. OmniMode loads the movie that your button tells it to into another MC on the main movie (master). With an instance name of "mc_loader," the code on the button can look like this:
on (release) {
_level0.mc_functions.omniLink("page3");
}
Also, note that imported movies' backgrounds become transparent when imported; This is helpful to remember!
